I'm loving my new pill pots. How cute are they?
I find getting my medication out 3 or 4 times a day really depressing so what I do is to sit down once a week and count it all out into pill pots like this. I store them all in my drawer next to my bed...
That way it's easy for me to grab a pill pot just before bed or in the morning madness that involves getting 2 kids up and ready for school, rather than counting out up to 15 different medications each time.
I know some people will be horrified to think of all those medicines being so easily accessible but my kids have grown up around this. They know that mummy's medicine makes mummy better but would make them very ill or even kill them. I even keep my supplies (including controlled drugs like morphine) under my bed...
The kids have NEVER touched them other than when asked to get them for me and I honestly believe they never would. I think that by normalising it they don't even think about them being there, whereas by making them taboo and keeping them out of bounds they would be naturally curious about them.
The kids often help me count out the medication and love to watch me down all the tablets in one go. They think it's pretty funny that Daddy has to break his paracetamol tablets in half and struggles to take them but Mummy can neck 20 tablets in one go with a tiny sip of water. I have had a lot more practice than him though!

That is a good way to approach the matter. And since you keep them all in one place, it’s unlikely that they’ll mistake it for some generic medicine. Anyway, you’ve got a great strategy on how to keep up with your medications, and I think it helps a lot that you take time to organize them, so that you don’t forget to take one regularly. Thanks for sharing this with us. All the best!
